Arcade Fire For The Win!
I usually don’t really care on the Grammy Awards of recent years (except in 2009 when Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead & Coldplay performed), but when I checked the Grammy nominations for 2011 (out of curiosity), I’m stoked to find Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs making the cut to the Best Album category!
Now, they’ll probably won’t win it - it’s just unfashionable to let Arcade Fire (Who? You may ask) to win. If they do win, I’ll be dancing around like a lunatic!
Suburbs is also nominated for Best Alternative Music Album (How do you categorise “Alternative” anyway? ), along with Band of Horses’ (which I’ve just recently discovered) Infinite Arms. I haven’t listened to Infinite Arms, but because I played to death The Suburbs & listed it as my Top Album of 2010, I’m rooting for it. Definitely will check out Infinite Arms later (currently loving Everything All The Time)
Muse’s Resistance is nominated for Best Rock Album, but that album was released in 2009 actually. Oh maybe it was released to The Rest of The World a year earlier.
The Grammys will be broadcasted 13 Feb (14th Feb in Msia)- but I won’t be around that time. Argh, but Arcade Fire will be performing! I’ll miss out on the Live performance sigh - but there’s always You Tube to check out later. Ohh now I hope they win! *Crosses fingers*
